We need your assistance and expertise at four (4) upcoming student focused-events. This is the future of the optometric profession – these are our future members – and I hope that you can find the time to take part.
The first event will be held at Western University in partnership with AOA on WEDNESDAY, APRIL 19 FROM 5:30 – 7:30PM. AOA Trustee Jackie Bowen, OD, will be attending, and it our opportunity to present one unifying message. WUCO will be hosting an evening of dinner, networking and learning.
Specifically, student leaders have requested to invite doctors from the local societies who will represent a diversity of gender, age, different locations, different career choices -- low vision, vision therapy, medical, modes of practice, starting own practice, being an active community participant, entrepreneur, etc. -- to take part in a fun student-OD speed dating event. Essentially, students will rotate around from table to table and have a chance to ask questions of COA-member doctors on these topics.
Are you in??? Please reply to me no later than April 6 with your name and the topic on which you can focus. If multiple society representatives can attend – the more the merrier! We are looking to confirm 15-20 members to speak with the ~200 students that will be in attendance.
I sincerely appreciate your dedication to COA and the optometric profession, and hope you can make what’s sure to be a very fun and informative event for the students. If you personally cannot make it, I encourage you to pass on this invitation to other members that you feel would be a good representation for your society.
Please contact me with any questions. Thanks so much for your help!
